Solid Wood Flooring
Solid Wood Flooring is made from single pieces of timber making it the most versatile and unique flooring. It is also the most natural looking of the three types of flooring. Usually solid wood will come with tongue and groove joints and will need to be stuck down when fitted. Solid wood flooring can also be sanded down at a later date if accidentally damaged or if a change of finish is required.
Engineered Wood Flooring
Engineered Flooring is composed from layers of wood pressed together. These usually consist of a top wear layer of solid wood, a central core and a backing board. Engineered flooring provides the look and feel of solid wood flooring while being able to provide more stability in terms of heat and swelling.
Laminate Flooring is completely manufactured layered flooring. The advantage of this is that it is generally available in wider range of designs and colours including natural wood effect and tile effect. Laminate is also easy to maintain and does not need sanding down or re-varnishing.
