Smoked Mirror Splashback and Gleaming White Worktops

After visiting several kitchen studios, Brad and Helen visited Gardiner Haskins Interiors where they immediately noticed the excellent customer service given by kitchen designer Alec to another couple. Helen said, “after seeing how Alec listened and cared for his customers, we knew immediately that we wanted him to design our kitchen”.                

Grey, minimal and contemporary was the theme to match the rest of the rooms in the house. They recently had the internal wall knocked down which originally sat in the middle of the room, so the couple already knew they wanted to create more worktop space for the family. Smart storage within the kitchen cabinetry also created the extra space they craved.  

Alec designed the contemporary Fusion Gloss Grey kitchen by English Rose. Shimmering, white quartz worktops compliment the fitted kitchen cabinetry which is highlighted by the large expanse of the smoked, mirrored splashback spanning the back wall. This magnificent splashback gives the illusion of double the kitchen space in a kitchen diner that is already light and spacious. Smart fitted storage hidden in the cabinetry provided more space and switching the position of the sink from underneath the window to the island gave Brad and Helen the extra worktop space. Replacing their fridge freezer with a full height fridge plus a full height freezer to give them more food space was also on the wishlist. Alec managed to incorporate both these into the design without compromising on the rest of the space requirements.

“We wanted to have enough space to exchange our fridge freezer for a full height fridge and full height freezer. This has given us much more food space. We are over the moon as Alec was able to design our kitchen with plenty of room for our new appliances.”

The couple decided on “Fusion Gloss Grey” by “English Rose”. Which had the clean uncluttered lines they were looking for. This was complimented by White Shimmer Quartz worktops, to make the kitchen feel light and more spacious.

“After seeing the mirrored splashback on display in store, we chose to have the smoke mirrored splashback which helped to give the illusion of a bigger space.”

The couple were thoroughly impressed throughout the whole design process with Alec and the kitchen team. Brad said; “Alec really understood our ideas and suggested features which we hadn’t thought of such as moving the sink from being by the window to fitting it onto the island.”

Helen added; “Alec also suggested fitting smart storage within the cabinetry to create extra space which we both agree was a brilliant idea and has created so much more space for us.”

Brad and Helen are overjoyed with their new kitchen and extremely pleased that their kitchen island is large enough to fit four seats around so they can eat together.  Alfie looks pretty pleased too!
