Our Kitchen Experts transform this ordinary kitchen in to a Shaker style, cashmere dream complete with rounded island heaps of storage!

Choosing Us
Mr and Mrs Cook had their kitchen transformed with the help of Kitchen Designer Tara and a team of experienced fitters. Already knowing of Gardiner Haskins Interiors as an “established company” and after doing some research into other Kitchen planning companies they chose us after finding “Lots of good reviews compared to the others”. After visiting the Bristol Kitchen showroom their confidence was cemented.

The Process
Our designer, Tara, project managed the whole process from design to installation of the kitchen along with Ryan, the installer. Mr and Mrs Cook say they were very pleasantly surprised at how easy the process was and the amount of help from the team.

“We didn’t really have to do anything, it was all organised for us and Ryan was great at keeping in contact with the other workmen, builders etc. It was no hassle and a lot easier than we thought. They would also give us lots of good advice and suggestions about other things – even down to which size of skip to hire.”

The Kitchen
Tara designed the new kitchen in a shaker style. The cashmere colour of the units combined with the large windows give a lot of light – making it look large and appealing. The wood effect worktops compliment the colour scheme to complete the look.

A big issue in the existing design was storage. Tara added lots of storage solutions including two larders either side of the existing fridge freezer, with extra storage above. The internal drawers also make it much easier to keep things organised and easy to reach. Made very clear by the perfectly organised tin drawer!

Speaking of convenience, there were suggestions made by the Kitchen Designer that Mr & Mrs Cook didn’t think of – small suggestions like swapping the positions of the sink and draining board made washing up a lot simpler and more efficient.

LED spotlights were added to the underside of the kitchen cabinets – illuminating the worktop for extra lighting when preparing food.

The kitchen island was already in place, but it’s long length and square corners meant the walkway to the backdoor was very narrow and resulted in a lot of painful knocked sides when passing. This was easily fixed by taking just a few inches off the length and a curved design – hardly losing any length but adding a lot of convenience.

Appliances
A NEFF Slide and Hide built in oven was added to the kitchen design. As the oven is positioned next to the kitchen door, it’s unique sliding door means that the doorway won’t be blocked by a large oven door. The oven is positioned at a perfect height for watching and removing food without having to bend down or stretch up. The washing machine was also built in to the units and concealed - so as not to disrupt the streamlined look of the cabinets.

The Cooks have never had a dishwasher in their kitchen and with limited space, thought it would be impossible to add one. However, Tara was able to include a NEFF slimline dishwasher that fitted perfectly into the island! This has become one of their favourite features of the whole design!
