This Christmas if you’re looking for ways to decorate your house with festive ideas or maybe you’re running short of time - we’ve got you covered with these simple Christmas decorating ideas.

  1. Paper Christmas Decorations - If you haven’t got the time and are on a budget, try paper decorations. You could either create them yourself or buy them in bulk from websites such as Amazon if you’re planning to create a big display. They look really pretty bunched up together on a staircase or hanging over a dining room table. Minimal effort, maximum effect.

  2. Outdoor Fairy Lights - Another quick but effective way to show off to your neighbours you have the whole Christmas decorating thing down to a T. Try hanging fairy lights around your door, putting them around a hedge or wrapping them around a tree.

  3. Switch up your Cushion Covers for Festive Alternatives - It takes no more than a minute to change a cushion cover, so why not swap them for ‘Christmassy’ ones. Doing this will help to make your living room and bedrooms look more festive and cosy.

  4. Small Space Decorations - whether you don’t have lots of space for decorating or maybe you live in a smaller building such as a flat, use areas such as window stills, tops of console tables and shelves. They’re ideal for something simple such as fairy lights and ornaments.

  5. Scented Candles and wax melts - if you can’t put up lots of decorations, you can still make your room more festive by lighting scented candles. Choosing festive smells such as gingerbread, peppermint, winter wonderland, pine and cinnamon will help to make your room smell of Christmas.

  6. Layer up - decorate your home by hanging objects from different heights. Decorations such as oversized snowflakes and decorating mantles by hanging layers of garlands and fairy lights.

  7. Christmas Tableware - Swap your normal tablecloths for festive printed tableware and napkins. It’s a great way to add colour with basically no work involved.

Our Cirencester store has the perfect selection of Christmas decorations from tree lights to festive ornaments!
